The lipsticks from the Nyx makeup line are some of the brands most popular products and many of them have received outstanding reviews. I tried two from the range and compared them to see which ones worked best and who they would be more suited too. The products I tried were the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade ‘London’ and the Nyx Butter Gloss in the shade ‘Madeline.’

Review
The Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream collection comes in 34 different shades. This means there is a colour to suit every skin tone and style. The shade ‘London’ is a nude, pink colour which works well for everyday wear or if you are not into the bold lip look.
I would say that these matte lip creams are a cross between a lipstick and a lip gloss. They are a mousse-like formula and apply smoothly onto the lips as liquid but dry matte after a few minutes. They are fairly long lasting although the colour will fade if you are eating and drinking often. Despite this, I found that the colour did not transfer onto the glass after drinking.
The negative side of these lip creams is that if your lips are particularly dry or cracked the product will enhance this and it will not apply smoothly. Other than this the product is a really nice matte lipstick and can be worn for multiple occasions. At only £6 it is a much cheaper alternative to some of the high end matte lipsticks such as the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits.
The Pros:
The lip creams are a cross between a lipstick and lip gloss so are a happy medium.
They are an affordable alternative to the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits.
Long lasting on the lips with minimal eating and drinking.
Range of colours to suit everyone.
The Cons:
The product will not apply smoothly onto cracked, dry lips and will instead enhance this.
Dries quickly which can cause problems if you make a mistake.
The Nyx Butter Gloss

Review
Alternatively there are the Nyx butter glosses which are a different formula to the creams but are perfect for those who want a bit of colour and a glossy finish. The colour applies smoothly onto the lips and the gloss is not sticky which can be a big problem with most lip glosses. There are again 34 shades in the collection with a variety of colours to suit everybody. They are extremely pigmented glosses and also smell delicious! The colour does not last as long as the lip creams do but they are very moisturising and last on the lips for a good few hours with minimal eating and drinking. You can wear them both on their own and over other lipsticks to create a glossy finish.
The pros:
The gloss is lightweight and applies smoothly onto the lips.
The product comes in a range of different colours to suit everyone.
They smell delicious!
The Cons:
Don't last long on the lips if you are eating or drinking frequently throughout the day.
Colour is not as vibrant as the lip creams.
These are two excellent lip products by Nyx, both of which are cheap alternatives to high end products. If you haven’t already I suggest you purchase either of the two and give them a try.
